Studio Kyoto Animation diserang. 33 orang tewas dan puluhan lainnya luka-luka. Semua berkas kertas dan digital di dalamnya musnah. Melihat banyaknya jumlah korban dan pentingnya studio ini dalam budaya animasi Jepang, tidak heran kasus ini mendapat perhatian dunia.
Didapat dari Twitter, banyak tokoh dunia turut hadir mengucapkan belasungkawa atas tragedi Kyoto Animation. Beberapa di antaranya adalah Tim Cook (CEO Apple Inc), Shinzo Abe (Perdana Menteri Jepang), juga Justin Trudeau (Perdana Menteri Kanada).
